Can You Use a USB Microphone With an Xbox Series X/S?
XBOX SERIES X MICROPHONE HOW TO
Let’s look at exactly how to set up your USB microphone on an Xbox Series X/S and what you’ll need.

The best part is that you don’t need any special drivers or software to get the mic working, making it even easier to use. This may seem like a lot of work, but it’s actually quite simple and only takes a few minutes. Instead, you’ll need a compatible headset with an integrated mic, or a microphone that allows connection via 3.5mm jack to use with an audio splitter at the Xbox Controller. You can’t use a USB microphone with the Xbox Series X/S by simply plugging it into the USB port on the console. But how do you set one up with your Xbox Series X/S? With great features like low latency, no need for drivers, and an easy plug-and-play setup, these mics are ideal for gaming. Most good headsets come with this adapter the headset I've seen recommended most often is the PC38X.Following their endorsement by podcasters and YouTubers worldwide, USB mics have also made their way into the gaming realm. You need a mic with an analog output in that sort of style, and you'll likely need an adapter to the format of 3.5mm connector used by the controller (most mics are two or three pole and it's a four pole connector in a particular format, IIRC). There aren't really USB to 3.5mm adapters that'd be a very niche form of DAC and would need external power (and likely a bit of separate electronics) to work, which is why they aren't generally made.

PS4 has support for some of that stuff, but that's not helpful here. I don't have a Series X (shortages and all), but if Xbox One doesn't, I doubt Xbox Series does Microsoft has been good about features like that being included in software updates for all their consoles when they get added.

If you're going beyond that, you really should be looking into PC and capture card setups consoles are not designed for streaming and it's never going to have hardware support like a PC since it's just an extra feature. This might not be helpful, but a nice headset is honestly your best bet with console streaming. Thanks to /u/iTruthful and Conceptional for the art!
